It may be hard to believe right now, but there are simple things you can do to start feeling better RIGHT away. Small changes can make a big difference.

Our expert physical therapists have some tips for you to activate the muscles that support your lower back and hips.

We’ve found that 90% of people with hip pain or back pain are weak in these muscles. Working to activate these muscles greatly reduces back and hip pain.

THESE ARE SIMPLE EXERCISES- WE RECOMMEND THEM TO PATIENTS ALL THE TIME- TAKE JUST A FEW MINUTES EACH DAY, AND YOU CAN DO THEM ANYWHERE THAT YOU HAVE A FLAT SURFACE TO LIE ON COMFORTABLY. *Always listen to your body and consult with on of our expert physical therapists if you are not noticing any improvement after tryin the exercises in this video.
  • Keep your spine as neutral as you can comfortably manage- avoid arching the spine or forcing your back to flatten out.
  • Use the abdominal muscles to push your breath out- focus on making that connection.
  • Try to keep the belly stable- not rocking or shifting from side to side or rolling to the left or right.
  • Work up to 10 repetitions
  • Make small adjustments as you get stronger- it’s an easy way to stay challenged and engaged, and will certainly help to gain strength in the gluteal muscles.
